Head Coach/Offensive Coordinator/QB's
Coach Brown enters his second season as the Head Coach of the Oilers. He has been the Offensive Coordinator at HBHS for the past 6 seasons, and the QB coach for 10 seasons. Before coaching the Oilers, Coach brown was the Offensive Coordinator at Ocean View High School for 2 seasons. Coach Brown graduated from Marina High School in 2003 where he was named a Captain of both the Varsity Football and varsity Basketball team his senior year. After high school, Coach Brown started coaching at Ocean View while he attended and graduated from California State University, Fullerton with a degree in Business. Coach Brown has been teaching Health and Physical Education at HBHS for 5 years. He resides in Huntington Beach with his beautiful wife Brianna and their two boys Brady (4) and Brixton (3 months). Coach Brown is excited about his team and expects great things out of the Oilers in the 2017 season.
Coach Eddy is returning for his 8th year coaching for the Oilers Defense. This is his 4rd year coaching the linebackers after previously working with the secondary. His football background stems from playing linebacker at Westminster where he was part of a nationally ranked team that made it to the Pac Five semi-finals. He moved on to play football at UCSB where he graduated with a degree in Sociology. He started coaching by helping out his nephew’s HB youth football team, and became a part of the HBHS Football Family when he joined the staff as those kids became high school players. Go Oilers!!!
Defensive Coordinator/DB's Coach
Coach Segura enters his 19th year of coaching and his 8th year of being the defensive coordinator for the Oilers. Prior to coaching at Huntington, Coach Segura spent 3 years as the defensive coordinator at Long Beach Wilson, 2 years as the defensive backs coach at Ocean View, and 6 years at Marina High School as the defensive backs coach. After graduating from Marina High, Coach Segura went on to earn a degree in Business Admin from Long Beach State. Coach Segura currently works at Huntington Beach High school and is also a Varsity Assistant Basketball coach for the Oilers Basketball program.
Coach Jordan begins his first year as a coach for the Oilers. He was born and raised in Huntington Beach and graduated from Marina High. After high school, he attended Orange Coast College and then moved on to Rocky Mountain College, in Billings Montana. Coach Jordan earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management as well as a Minor in Economics and Pre-Law Studies. He then spent a year as an Assist Coach for Rocky Mountain. Coach Jordan is excited to share his knowledge with the HBHS team, and looks forward to the season. Go Oilers!
Coach Jordan begins his 5th year coaching defense for the Oilers. He grew up in Huntington Beach and graduated from Marina High School where he was an All-Sunset League Football and Baseball player his senior year. Coach Jordan went on to play Baseball at Cal Poly Pamona where he graduated with a degree in Business Management. Coach Jordan currently works in the construction industry and lives in Westminster with his amazing wife Kayte and their two labs Moe and Tucker.
Coach Orosco begins his 1st year coaching defense for the Oilers. He is from Selma, California, 20 minutes south of Fresno. Coach Orosco has spent the past 4 seasons coaching football at Selma High School and helped lead them to a Central Section Division 4 Title and a CIF Division 4 State Runner-Up this past season. He is currently studying History at Cal State Fullerton.
Coach Bischoping returns his 3rd year on the HBHS football staff. He is from from Rochester, NY. Coach Bischoping played rugby during undergrad at The Pennsylvania State University. He is a Corporate account manager for Schneider-electric and a MBA student for Chapman University. Coach Bischoping enjoys golf, going out to eat, Friday nights when you’re looking for a win, and Saturday mornings when you found one.
Offensive Line Coach
Coach O is entering his 21st year in coaching, 7th at HBHS. He has previous coaching stints at Santa Margarita High School, Esperanza High School, El Modena High School and Corona del Mar High School. Coach O currently lives in Fountain Valley with his wife Kris and son Nicholas.
Running Back Coach
Coach Yoshiyama enters his second year as part of the HBHS football staff. He brings over 20 years of coaching experience with him. He has been an assistant coach at Marina, head coach at OceanView, and assistant coach at Edison. He has coached many of the HBHS football staff members (Coach Brown, Segura, Ja. Jordan, Jo. Jordan, and Engelman). Coach Yoshiyama enjoys reading and baking in his spare time.
Defensive Line Coach
Coach Alex Alagata returns to coaching after playing two years at Goldenwest College. This will be his fourth season coaching the Oilers. Coach Alagata grew up in Huntington Beach and played all four years at HBHS. His senior year he was awarded First Team All-Sunset League and was given the Jim Axton award.
Coach Ross comes back to his alma mater to join the Oiler coaching as a receiver coach. In his senior season (2013) for the Oilers, Coach Ross led the football team to the only CIF Championship in school history. He played Quarterback, Corner, and returned kicks and punts. Coach Ross owns multiple football records at HBHS and was awarded CIF Offensive Player of the Year and Orange County Defensive Player of the Year in 2013. Coach Ross then went on to play at Cal Poly San Louis Obispo, and Saddleback Community College as a Free Safety. Coach Ross is excited to begin the next chapter of his life as a football coach for the Oilers. -O4L
